This stretch of road is located near the battle site of Antietam and is known for a strange phenomenon. Stories say if you put your car in neutral while at the base of the hill, ghosts of Confederate soldiers will push it back up the incline. Reports of laughter have also been heard coming from the woods.

  • Possible Skinwalker seen in Burkittsville

Around 2A.M. this morning I saw what i thought was my neighbors dog. Looked just like her but the head was very small. I walked over to get a better look and this thing vanished into thin air. I swear it was a Skinwalker. Immediately after that i looked up and saw a shooting star. I don't believe or not believe in ghosts etc. But since moving to.Burkitsville i have had many cases of what i consider paranormal activity. Spend a couple nights in town and Im sure you'll understand. And Spook Hill is worth the trip.

  • This is accurate

I went here 29 years ago with some friends who knew about this. The driver stopped the car and put it in neutral and showed they weren't putting their foot on the gas and the car slowly drove up the hill on its own. We didn't head laughter though.
