The Clara Barton House in Glen Echo is part of the location's National Historic Site. The home was established in 1974 to interpret the life of Clara Barton, an American pioneer teacher, nurse, and humanitarian who was the founder of the American Red Cross. Clara herself is known to haunt the location. She has been spotted as a see-through figure that wears a dark green dress.

Reviews

Resident with experiences

Lived in the house from 68 as a single and held my weding reception there in 70..
Wedding nite spent on captain s ropes bed at top of the house. We lived there in the basemen for another year or so

My wife often saw Clara and spoke to her.

My basement t apt had a 30 ft walk across basement to the bathroom. I often saw soldiers from both N and S

For some unknown reason it never bothered me or my wife. To this day we often remember experiences
Events clearly

The kids in the old school did freak us out
We never interacted with them even though they laughed alot.
