This church and burial ground are believed to be haunted by a number of spirits. The burial ground dates back to 1876 and the church all the way to 1852. The ghost of author Edgar Allan Poe is believed to be one of the many spirits that linger here. Haunting reports include muffled screams, a foul odor and a white-haired ghost. Also, a photographer took a photo of a ghost who placed flowers on Poe's grave on his birthday, and it was featured in LIFE Magazine. Some of the ghosts here are said to be angry ones who get annoyed when people try to come and hunt for spirits.
