Landon House
Frederick, MD 21704
This historic home dates back to about 1849 and is also known as the Stancioff House. It was said to have once been used as a makeshift hospital during the Civil War after a deadly battle took place nearby. Reports here include phantom screams, cries and prayers, or sounds of soldiers begging for help. The basement of the home is where slaves were once kept and abused, and those who go down there report feeling cold spots, taps on the shoulder, and the feeling of being watched by an unseen presence. Apparitions of soldiers have also been seen throughout the house and on its grounds.
