Stories say the Witch's Grave can be found at Truxton Park, in the woods past the third baseball field, near a slanted tree. Stories say the witch was buried here in the 1800s but escaped from her grave, never to be seen again. On Halloween night, the bodies of her victims are rumored to hang from the trees.

I grew up in the adjacent neighborhood on Hilltop Lane during the 1960s. At that time the grave had been opened with a man-sized hole through the arched-roof underground crypt. The story then was a nearby doctor robbed the grave and collected the bones "for study." The crypt was left open and the only thing left inside were some fallen bricks. Neighborhood kids would often climb inside (including me). I recently visited the site after some 55+years and found the grave had collapsed. The railing is still there though.
